Got a bike that needs fixing? Keen to meet your bike-friendly neighbours? Pop along to the Pt Chevalier Mini Bike Fest at the Pt Chev Community Centre on Huia Rd.

There'll be friendly bike mechanics giving free tune-ups, and happy to talk you through the ins and outs of bike maintenance.

You can make your own pedal-powered bike smoothie, and watch some 'bike shorts' - short films about the bike life, screening in the Community Centre's annex.

Come and enjoy bike-friendly activities and goodies, and find out about upcoming projects to make the neighbourhood even more bike-friendly.

At 2pm, weather permitting, we'll do a group ride to explore the new safe cycleways through Waterview.

And, if you have good bikes or helmets you don't need, they can be fixed up and passed along as part of the Recycling Bicycles for Refugees programme. Donations of bikes & helmets can be dropped off at Pt Chev Community Centre on or before the day itself: Please contact Sara at
