A group of Selwyn House School students set about encouraging more people to use Christchurch’s cycleways. They remembered how much fun it was exploring the city’s post-earthquake giraffe sculpture trail, so adapted ‘the hunt’ idea for biking. It was a winning idea.

Local schools have created BICYCLE ART and it has been hidden along Christchurch’s major cycle routes.
This launch of the ‘find a bike’ trail starts at Rutland Reserve with a barbeque, balloons, and treats for the children. Then, if you want to join in the hunt for some of the hidden bikes, the ride leaves at 1.45pm.
By taking a photo of the decorated bikes you find, and posting them online with the #letsbikechch tag, you could win a prize.

Whether you cycle already, would like to give it a go, or just want to join the fun, there will be something for you.
