Bketober

Open Call for Cycling Stories

Date: All month.
Time: Any time of day.
Venue: Anywhere in New Zealand.
Suitability: Any cyclist who wants to write a cycling short story, flash fiction, poem or essay.
Cost: Free.
Event organised by: The Commuting Book

Will you make a bike fly on a fantastic adventure? Will you solve a mystery surrounding a bicycle on a thrilling story? Or will you make us laugh with a story about that time you took your friend’s bike thinking it was yours and things went, well, slightly wrong? In support of Biketober, we are celebrating bikes with words.

Go for a ride and find inspiration for your next short story, flash fiction, poem or essay work (up to 2500 words) on the topic of bikes and cycling. We will select all the best ones and you will be joining The Commuting Book online Stories gallery and entertaining passengers in public transport reading our Stories on the Go with the chance to get your work read by lots and lots of people. You will also join the Authors gallery with your own spot among other great storytellers.

Open to all ages and all NZ residents living anywhere in the country.
Entries close on 9th of November 2018 at 5pm.
