Biketober NZ

PASSPORT Destination Sign-up

Biketober is a month-long festival of fun on bicycles for Christchurch, including the New Zealand Bike Expo to be held on October 13th and 14th at the Air Force Museum of New Zealand in Wigram.

The Biketober Passport is your way of getting a slice of the action by becoming a destination for people on bikes throughout Biketober!

Your business will be promoted in the PASSPORT publication and on the Biketober PASSPORT website and facebook pages. People will be encouraged to visit your business during October to collect their stamp. At the same time they will be encouraged to take up any special offers you have included.

In 2017 over 5,500 people participated one or more of the 65 different Biketober events in Christchurch – including the NZ Bike Expo. (Not included are CCC organised events such as ‘City of Cycles’ or ‘Streets for People' nor Biketober participants collecting Passport stamps).

As a destination
  • People will be prompted to visit your business throughout the month of October (Biketober)

  • You stand out as a bike-friendly business and generate goodwill among people who shop locally by bike

  • Your business name and logo will appear on the Biketober PASSPORT display at the NZ Bike Expo

  • If you provide a prize, you receive additional promotion at the prize-giving event (end of month)

  • Your advertisement details will be printed as part of the Biketober PASSPORT

  • You advertisement details will be displayed on the Biketober PASSPORT website page

Costs to participate

We have two payment options

  • $250 (to be invoiced by 31 July for payment by 31 August)

  • $200 plus a prize valued at $50-$100 (prize to be drawn at an event at the end of Biketober)

A couple of extra things

  • We will ask you to display a poster in your business window to show that you are participating in the Biketober PASSPORT challenge

  • We will ask you to have PASSPORT's available at your counter (or somewhere visible in your business) for people to pick-up, so that they can get involved

  • We will issue you with a stamp, so that when people come in during Biketober with their passport, you can stamp the box beside your businesses name
