Where to Get a Bike
Keen to take part in Biketober but don't have a bike?
There are a few options available to you:
Get your own bike
There are plenty of bike shops around Christchurch that can supply a wide range of bikes for all occasions, including sporty bikes, city bikes, e-bikes, and cargo bikes.
Christchurch has two bike maintenance and repair initiatives, RAD Bikes and ICEcycles, that can provide people with refurbished bikes for low cost or even free.
Why not visit the NZ Bike Expo on the weekend of 13-14 October, where there will be all kinds of special deals on bikes on display?
Borrow a bike
If you're a student at the University of Canterbury then you can borrow a bike from their collection on campus for free.
There are plenty of bike rental places in Christchurch that enable you to get a bike (including e-bike options) for a few hours or a few weeks.
Some Biketober events allow you to borrow a bike on the day. Check the event details and contact the event organiser in advance.
